Experience and Credits
- James Atticus Bowden is a Military 'futurist' and concept developer. He is a Program Manager for a large Defense Corporation. He resides in Virginia.
- 2002-Present: Mr. Bowden works many different projects from managing a new, prototype C4ISR system for deployed Naval Forces to proposal writing to a support agreement with the Romanian Ministry of Defense to the Joint Strike Fighter (F35) and a laser weapon.
- 2000-2002: Team Leader for creating concepts of operation, organization, technology and force design for the Army’s Future Combat Systems (FCS) Phase I.
- 1992-2000: The Program Manager and Principal Investigator for different projects like the Headquarters, Army Research Laboratories’ Integrated Idea Teams (IITs) for Fires, Hybrid Units, and Military Operations in Urban Terrain. The Red 'Commander' for the 1999 Army After Next (AAN) Wargame. The Principal Investigator for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) 'seedling' study for the FCS. Created the 'Red' and 'Orange' team enemies in the initial Army After Next (AAN) Wargames for U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC).
- 1972-1992: Served as an infantry officer in five divisions in the U.S., Korea and Germany. Graduate of the United States Marine Command and Staff College, Army Infantry Officer Advanced and Basic courses and six Army schools. He served as speechwriter and special assistant to the Commanding General, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). Director of the futures study, 'Army 21'.
- 1981-1984 Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Sciences, United States Military Academy.

Earned Graduate Degrees from Harvard University (MPA 1981) and Columbia
University (M Phil 1985).
- Mr. Bowden swore to uphold the Constitution
against all enemies, foreign and domestic on July 1st, 1968. He entered service
from his home of record – The Commonwealth of Virginia. Mr. Bowden graduated
from the United States Military Academy in 1972.
